Owner – Scot Mundle
I have been racing sailboats since the age of 12. It all began one day when I was out for a Sunday afternoon sail with my dad. Always looking for more speed, I was continually playing with the sail trim. Dad, who was out for some R&R, became irritated with me, and voiced “If you want to race, go get on a race boat!” Well, when they returned to the dock, I marched right over to the nearest race boat and asked the skipper he would like a new crew. The skipper said yes, and the rest is history.
Scot has raced a wide variety of boats as crew, ranging from 1/2 tonners to Antrim 27s to 8 Metres to Olsons. As skipper, he has helmed Solings, a Nacra 20, and Old School. He has seen good success in all the classes in which he has participated. The pinnacle of his career thus far occurred in 2010, when he won the Olson 30 North Americans Championships.
James Colburn
James is my foredeck extraordinaire. He has been sailing with me for about 10 years, and without him I would not have enjoyed nearly the successes that I have. He has been racing for about 30 years, on everything from dinghies to continent-level Tornado catamarans. When something needs to be jury-rigged on the boat, he is the man to do it.
Frank Egan
Frank the Tank is my gorilla grinder. Yes, he breaks my boat. Constantly. (bulkhead broke with his foot, stanchion base with his back, interior seat with his butt, winch pawl with his brute strength) But, he is a great guy who just loves cranking a winch. Not only is he a Class-A grinder…he is also an unaccredited Beer Sommelier. He has singlehandedly opened our eyes to the world of fine beers. THANK YOU FRANK!
Peter G
Peter is known as Peter G. Only because none of us can pronounce his surname. Peter has been with me for three years, and began as an absolute newbie. Now, I can proudly state that he can tail genoa sheets and hoist halyards like any other competitive racer I know, even if he has dropped the banshee scream. He is always the first to lend a hand with the boat.
Cody Cote
Cody is a second-year crew. He brings with him a wealth of small boat experience, a great sense of humor, and a bunch of grunt when we need it.
Cory Green
Cory is brand new to the boat this year. He made quite a splash in his debut sail with us. His body temperature has reportedly returned to normal.
